Congratulations from all of us in Boston. He looks adorable. I suppose I have to sign myself "Great Aunt" Aly!

Reusable or disposable?
So is that name offical? I was filling in CRB forms last night and so looked at my birth certificate. I was born 12 Feb 83 but me parents never registered me until 20something March 83... I suspect that there were having naming trouble and needed a time when they could both register me (a problem of not being married you know).

My mum had a colleague whose husband registered their son's birth. Except he registered him as Sammy instead of the proposed Samuel, they referred to him as 'Little Sammy' ... now however he's 28 and not so little!
So having both parties present saves your child from this! (By teenhood he was always referred to as Sam.

Nappies are disposable at the moment and seeing the stickiness of those first fillings I'm glad they're going in the bin. We intend to experiment with "real nappies" once we feel a bit more on top of things. I've got a starter pack from a local environmental charity so I can try a few versions before deciding which ones to go for. So many options....
Haven't registered the birth yet - there's six weeks to do that and I'm still not getting through the "really should be done today" list let alone moving onto things I could do anytime in the next few weeks!

Apparently you get a letter after 6 weeks asking why your child hasnt been registered... We've had a few of them in our family!
Good Luck with everything. I wont ask about nipples.

Glad you are starting to type with one hand, as I discovered the other day this gets harder as they can reach more, wriggle more etc..
Phil totally approves of the name, coupled with the yorkshire birth he thinks you have got it all right.
