Philip is one today! Happy Birthday to him!

Being the practical people we are we celebrated yesterday. We had to take the present opening slowly as having three toys and their boxes to play with was quite enough for the young man to cope with. And that got us less than half way through. He had virtually no sleep all day he was so excited! We are looking forward to playing with all the toys more carefully over the next few weeks.

I baked a very silly teddy bear cake - only for family viewing.

Enjoyed having an extra hour in the day yesterday after all those days of dreaming of extra hours to sleep!

Had a very pleasant weekend over at Hugh's last weekend doing a bit of work on his house and garden (in accordance with the family tradition of working weekends on each other's houses) and with a wander along part of the Leeds-Liverpool canal with NW SAGGA. A large crowd of us - and quite a few under 40!

Philip is now pulling himself up to standing and is looking much more toddler than baby like these days. He makes various sounds some of which make a bit of sense - can you have uh oh as your baby's first words? He also "says" no and shakes his head which is quite amusing. Not sure he's clear what it means though. He's just started doing the hand actions to twinkle twinkle little star which is great fun.
